Travel is what keeps me moving. Photography is how I make sense of what I find.

Photography, travel, and paying attention

I am drawn to places with character. Sometimes famous, sometimes overlooked, often somewhere in between. I like exploring without rushing, noticing the details that are easy to miss, and building a picture of a destination rather than collecting landmarks.

I came to this from consulting, which is probably why I think about a place as a set rather than a single frame.

The strongest frame usually appears after I stop looking for it.

What began as a way of documenting my own travels became something larger. SzymonExplores is a photography-first travel brand: exploring places, building visual stories, and making that work useful to other people.

The idea

One place, many ways to experience it

The same photograph can do more than one job. It can persuade someone to visit a place, carry a travel story, show a hotel as it actually feels, or simply be worth hanging on a wall.

Explore

Travel stories, photography and guides for people who want to see a place beyond its obvious version.

Work together

Photography for hotels, restaurants and tourism businesses that need to show the experience they are selling.

The direction is clear, but the work is still early. I would rather let it grow with the places I photograph than define it too narrowly now.

How I work

The Approach

Explore before you shoot

A destination is more than its postcard view. I walk, change perspective, and look at what is happening beyond the obvious subject. The strongest frame usually appears after I stop looking for it.

Build the story

I rarely think about a photograph on its own. A place needs the wide view, the architecture, the street and the detail. The aim is a set that works together, not a pile of frames.

Edit without rewriting

Post-processing should strengthen a photograph, not replace it. Polished and consistent, but still recognisably the place that was in front of the camera.
